    Logging road maps

Is there a map out there that shows logging roads in the Lake Cowichan/south Island area?

    Hi PaintBaller,

Have you tried the "Vancouver Island Backroads Map Book"?

I have found it to be a fairly detailed mapbook and has lots of information of the cowichan/nitinat logging roads etc...

    Hey PaintBaller,

I bought mine at a local gas station. Here is the website for the guys that make them.

    http://www.backroadmapbooks.com/

They are like $20.00 or so but well worth it.

    Happy Hunting!

You can get one at Walmart or Bucky's in Duncan. Try H&H he might carry it.

I got the one's for over here on the mainland, great books, but you might want to think about the version now out on CD rom. you can print any page you like and record on your computer way points and note's to be printed the next time you need it.

Make sure you get the Fourth edition of the Vancouver Island one. It has topo info (i.e. elevations) the other editions do not. The new edition is great and you can tell what kind of terrain your up against. It is a must have item. I have one at home and one in my truck at all times.

Best to find the latest version, the one I bought for the lower mainland wasn't the latest and didn't have the GPS co-ords on the sides. This was a while ago.

You might have to shop around to find the 4th ed.

    Chapters carries them as well.
