I think the terms "SSG" and "SG" are a throwback to the days of Canadian ammo makers and are the imperial equivalent of 000 and 00 buckshot.

Never used buckshot and never will. Only way to go for me is slugs.

I guess with a 12 ga. 00 buck or slug, both are deadley, personally I prefer slug to 00 buck, longer reach and better precision particulary with rifled slugs like Fiocchi aero rifled or Challenger (same slug ).

Once again, DO NOT try & take a NECK or HEAD shot! The shot will not penetrate or break heavy bone.a Heart lung shot within 40 yards max.

Didn't know that. In that case I wouldn't hunt there. I don't like buckshot, but that's just me.

000 or 00 They all work well. Shoot the doe in the head. Oh and they are called ssg's.

DO NOT SHOOT THE DOE IN THE HEAD. There is a reason these are shot gun with shot only area`s , the proximity to houses ,walking trails and residential area`s. MAKE A CLEAN KILL .We do not need to have wounded animals running around in these area`s as it just gives us hunters a bad name and we will eventually lose the privilege of having these area`s to hunt.

if your shooting 00 buck in 2 3/4 i would keep the shots no longer than 30 yards.
