    opinions please

Howdy all, I have recently gotten into dipping and cresting arrows. So far I am quite pleased with the results. So the question is do you think there would be much call for this kind of service and if so what do you figure would be a fair price to ask? Once the dip is done it takes about 15 minutes per arrow to do the cresting but I'm sure that will get quicker as I improve. Here's the first two I did pretty basic but there's not a lot of choice in colors in the kit so I gotta find more!....I'll try and get some more pics up later of a few more.

    any opinions welcome....good or bad

Good job cresting Willy, cresting is a great way to express your passion for the sport. Cresting is something I would personally. I believe there may be some who would want this service.

    Re: opinions please

ok heres a few more....some of them are very close to being good with some minor variations...such as the this first one...shoulda used a white cock feather....all a learning process though!

This one needs some darker accents to break up the bright bands??

not too sure about this one

This one i am very pleased with

Any suggestion for patterns, paints or anything you think might help me improve will be greatly appreciated!

I think they look great. I'm not sure if I would do it for my arrows as they seem too pretty to be smashed on rocks at 3D shoots lol. No I'm kidding let me know if you get into the business, it might be nice to get a doz. done. Steve.

Are these wood arrows or aluminum? Special paint and procedure required if the paint is to stick to aluminum. Nice job though.

Chris, those look awesome. Being an artistic void myself, I would have a real mess on my hands if I ever tried that. Good on ya; keep up the good work.

I assume you are using carbon arrows, judging by them all being black as you go off the edge of the pictures toward the tip.

Sorry, no help in judging appropriate prices from this direction.

Those are great! The one with the yellow is my style. What kind of paint are you using? Also, what fletch glue as I find the dang paint melts a bit and the fletch/paint peels off more easily than if stuck directly to the carbon.

    Chris, Very nice !!!
How much do you charge and what are you offering? What arrows, cresting, fletching....... how would you want to go about it when one has the arrows already?

thanks for the kind words all!

    onesock...all carbon thus far

T-stix, I am using the paints that come with the bohning kit so far, have heard that automotive paint works well for the dip. Gonna experiment with other paints for the cresting. Also I have just been using the regular fletch tite...seems to be compatible with the paint.

Mooseman - thanks for the interest, not really ready to look at going into business just yet...still figuring it all out and experimenting. Will let you know when I am comfortable enough to start doing it for money!
