that scribe i bought, however, if i knew at the time thats all that it was i would have made one.

heres the notched 2x4 this is so the knife can sit flat on the surface
the second picture is the knife securely clamped in place
third picture,,let the filing begin, try to determine the angle needed to hit both lines at the same time, the felt line on the blade and the top scribed line on the edge.
OK,,now that side 1 is finished with the b a s tard file its time to hit it with the mill file just to take out the deep scratches
in this sequence of pictures: pic 1 is showing the blade filed to the black lline we drew.
pic 2 is showing that it is filed just slightly above our scribed line on the edge, this is so when we use the mill file we will go down to the line.
pic 3 is showing just how deep the scratches really are, eventually those should be gone!
