Where are the cow elk in 1-09-B Gold River?

Earlier in the year I was asking advice for elk in 1-09 A.
I misunderstood my buddy who has the tag and he in fact has an antlerless elk permit for 1-09B, to the south south and northeast of Gold River.
We're heading to the area on Thursday and I'd appreciate any help you might have to offer on how to get started looking for that fat cow elk he wants.

I was up that way with some friends today and glassed a small herd. I don't know where the boundaries for your area are, but these elk were under the transmission lines just south of Gold River. Unfortunately I think they were within the boundaries of Strathcona Park.

There were 2 smaller Bulls, and the rest were cows.


I'll be going on a cow hunt next weekend also, my friend has a draw just north of Sayward.
