Well it sure called to me! And I was not disappointed. Would go back in a heartbeat; nyala, eland, waterbuck are beckoning...
Glad you had a great trip 1/2 Slam.

+1. My two trips to RSA are extremely memorable and if I could afford it, I'd do it a lot more.

Congrats on your trip 1/2 Slam! Thanks for sharing the great pics.

    Cheers

You've definitely got to experience it to "get it".

I seldom talk about it here at home (ie. with other hunters here at home)....folks tend to just give you blank stares. Their eyes will light up and they'll want to know every detail of the 22" rainbow you caught on the weekend, but mention the 55" kudu you shot and its a real conversation killer.

I spent six weeks in RSA 16 years ago before I was hunting. Would love to get back there on a different safari!

It sounds like you guy's had a great time, I got back from SA on Tuesday night, also did the Joburg Heathrow thing but landed in Vancouver rather than Seattle.

Be careful those spider bites are not tick bites - tick bite fever is an ugly thing if not taken care of properly.

I went hunting on two separate game farms, both with a bow and a rifle and had a fantastic trip - if anyone is interested feel free to send me a PM and I can certainly make a few recommendations if needed
