The computers most at risk are dormant computers connected to the Internet... (tucked away in a library corner or something)

For the average PC user who has an anti-virus software, updates windows regularly and scans for spyware etc... you'll likely be fine.

Until the virus launches they really don't know what the creators plans are. It usually turns the computers into "bots" that the hackers can then use to send spam, attack other websites with a dns attack (sends so many visits from the dormant computers it crashes the site)

Viruses are a lucrative business right now... With some of these guys making pretty phat cash.

No they didn't about the firewall, they did give out a us gov site to go on to try to block it. They did say it could be in as many as 10mil systems waiting to get turned tomorrow. Might be more on the 6:00 news.

a buddy of mine who is a progarammer with BC lotteries said that nothing has come down the line yet...... probably never see it on computers that are updated on a regular basis. He also said that the virus is probably already on your computer and there really is nothing you can do about it. Like others have said here...... it is really after the computers that are not maintained and have little or no anti-virus protection. mine seems fine right now and I have easy access to a bottle of rye for my buddy (maintenance costs for my computers)..... LOL good reason to drink.
