Always remember – It costs the same to feed a purebred that you can pretty much expect and get what you are paying for with few surprises and guarantees as it does for a dog with uncertain lineage and no guarantee.

I know that may sound harsh but a dog lives for 12 plus years and today a quality Labrador from a reputable breeder costs less than a $1000 with all shots plus PRA and hip guarantees as well as proven hunting/field trial and show stock.

BC hunter who gives a rats $%@ if leadpills pups don't have papers, $300 for a nice lab is a great deal. This whole papered thing is just something for people to beat their chests with. If you have time to run around competing your dogs to put a badge on your chest you are not out hunting enough. I am sure pure breds don't retrieve, point , track or tree any better then grade dogs or even crosses if the pups come from proven parents. I thought you of all people would have known this.
