Very good points, we make our own dehydrated meals and also vacuum seal, I used resealable bags this year and they worked well. With todays high calorie per ounce food you can cut substantial weight. 2 years ago I was 2 lbs per day, now I am just over 1 lb a day.
One can’t over emphasize leg, core, and cardio training, it does wonders for the weight your “mind” has to pack each day.

I haven’t tried making any dehydrated meals, but I do like adding to the ones I buy before I vacuum seal. I think I am closer to 1.5 lbs per day. There’s some things that I can’t seem to give up. I really like greenbelly meal bars as part of my lunch, but they are kind of heavy. This year I included some dark chocolate covered almonds and dark chocolate covered berries as a dessert after supper. Doesn’t take many and it’s a real treat.
I remember our early years of sheep hunting, before we improved our food choices, and it seemed like I was starving to death the whole time lol.

I forgot to pack a full roll once and only had the left overs from the last hunt. I had it down to 4 squares a crunch.
