I've been down (big time) the last couple of days with the "The Crud" and have spent this time digging around in old photo's.
Stumbled on to this one:
I'm looking for a little help in ID'ing this fella. I say Blacktail..... What about you?

Definitely a Hybrid!!!!
I'd take him to be a Blacktail. Just based on the rump as there's not enough rack to help with the decision.
Take a kid hunting its more rewarding than shooting an animal yourself!!
The rack looks about average size for a blacktail!
Hunt to live-live to hunt!
Bull Moose
I would have to go with steak
looks like a blacky but the body coloring is very light....
Mr Dean--- to bring up such an old discussion shows you're not over the crud yet--- and yes, of course it is the wiley 2 pronged young immy moose we read about but never see. Thanks for the great pic!
Really lookin' for feedback on this.
What gets me; is that *if* it is a blacktail,,, he's WAY out of his 'supposed' home range.
I tell veterans and long time locals about this deer and they assume that because I'm from the LML, I must suffer from the fumes of all the crack/meth users.
..... Or I'm just another Dumb City-Slicker.

It looks like a muledeer with the summer coat, the ears look a little too big for a true blacktail.
