Post Goose Hunt pics - Oct 22 '05

Well I was in on a hunt this morning with 6 other guys, hiding on a grassy fenceline running between two fields. The night before the geese were feeding in the stubble pretty heavy. Set up four dozen dekes and had a blast, literally, all morning.

Nice pictures! Haven't shot at a goose yet this year but a few flocks flying around my area.

I hear it's pretty tough to get a field hunt up your way as the guides have kind of locked up hunting rights on a lot of fields. My buddy used to hunt a lake up there but hasn't been out for years. Looks like there's plenty of birds still in the area!
I forgot my camera today so no duck pictures (and it was nice out too). One thing about hunting in a marsh by boat, no one leaves before the dekes are picked up!!!

I was using Fasteel 3" BB and Federal 3" Hi Vel. #2's

Set them up in a "J" pattern today, about 15 yards to the closest, 40 yards to the outside edge.

We got no problem getting permission. I can count on one hand the amount of times in the past five years we've been turned away. Usually it's just a matter of making sure someone else doesn't have a hunt planned on that field. Tons of birds now, the past week there has been alot more in the area it seems.

Congrats on a awsome hunt. Sounds like you got a good thing going up that way for field shooting. No ducks around like last year?

Ducks are hit and miss, some fields are packed, others are not

we only had a couple flocks come near us and fired on one of them but scratched not a one

last year hunting with Amphibious and a buddy we got a shitload one morning...was wild. a few days before Halloween it was...
