    Wild Turkey

    Anybody out there eaten wild Turkey and if so what did they taste like?Dont want to shoot one if they are no good to eat.

    I have also been wondering about the taste. If we had some around here I would surely apply for one.

    I have had a bit fall turkeys shoud be tasty i have only had spring birds a cousin of mine had 2 they had got in creston i tasted both kinda dry as they had no fat one was tasty the other tasted like willow buds fall turkey should be good.

    Friend of mine today recommended deep frying them in good hot oil. That will seal the outside of the bird and keep in what little moisture that there is. Fred

    You can pick up a turkey deepfrier for 70.00 from superstore,25lb bird is done in 1 hour.It is by far the best doing it this way.

    Have had a couple of them down here, had the last one smoked, was very good. I'm sure the quality of the cooked wild turkey has a lot to do with the experience of the person cooking it!
