cover ground for quantity.....still hunt for quality
at least thats been my observation up here in region five. If your just looking for a meat buck, drive and check as many slashes as possible and you'll find one soon enough. If you want a biggun you should get back in the timber and still hunt or sit. Of course all bets are off during the rut!

Great advice from willyqbc, take heed and prosper "pupper".
First part of the season it's time to fill the freezer - then you can relax and be selective for that "hat-rack" that is hiding just over the next ridge.
Good luck this year.
I've always still hunt until I find a good spot, then I sit or elevate myself for better visibility. Willyqbc has the right filosify towards quanity or quality righton the money, good luck Pupper
Big Mulies may be the most reclusive of all our big game.
Get into remote country & Glass untill your arms fall off.
In early season be there before light & until dark.
In late season glass all day & cover as much country as possible. Good luck!

"Still Hunting" is walking slowly and stopping at regular intervals, whereas "Stand Hunting" is sitting in one spot and waiting.Originally Posted by pupper

If I had a fine spot like yours I would wait also!Originally Posted by Firebird
