    2008 Alberta WT Double Header

Just got back from spending a few days with one of my brother's in Alberta. Hadn't hunted WT's with him for over 20 years. Great few days, and the timing couldn't have been better. Lots of snow, the bucks were plentiful, and best of all, they were moving around constantly.
Haven't hunted in Alberta since moving to BC in 1990. Got a non-resident tag and away we went.

    The brother's buck:

This was his FIRST WT as well! Couldn't have been more perfect. He was very pleased.

    My buck:

Shot my buck this AM, only yards from where my brother had shot his yesterday AM. The gutpiles were about 20 yards apart.
While waiting in a ground blind before my buck came out we couldn't believe it when a cow moose and a couple WT does with fawns started smelling and pawing the snow where we had brought out yesterday's kill.

GJ, you must love whitey meat.
With the hog whities you have taken in the past you think you would let that dinker grow up.
I know, I know it was your last day and you did splurge on that nonres tag..

Jas' buck is pretty awesome for a first buck. Pretty typical minus the brows and the little kicker. ( love the kickers)
He woulda been on my wall..

We caped his out and now in his freezer. Great, clean cape. He's leaning towards getting it done. It's a nice looking whitetail. You know how these whitetails follow me around...can't resist sometimes.

Nice buck! I got a respectable 4x4 WT in Sask. this year through Log Cabin Outfitters in Pierceland, I love the country in Alberta/Sask.
