    Gunsmiths...

Are there any gunsmiths in an around Vancouver that are honest, reliable and good value - I was going to use Bits and Pieces to re-crown my R700 as its lost some of its accuracy, but he says its going to take around 6 weeks...

    Anyone any good leads?

I have heard very, very, good things of Bit's-n-Pieces.

try calling john @ Reliable Guns. He smith's, but I'm not sure if he'd take this on. If not, he'd know someone.

Shane at Reliable is very good. He did a few jobs for me, right to the tee the way that I wanted. Did not take very long. I would not hesitate to use him again.

Barry (Bits of pieces) is good, but like all smiths. 6 weeks means 10 or more. Plan for longer be happy when you get it back sooner!!

    Re: Gunsmiths...

I deal with both but Shane is in my backyard and I have dealt with him and his dad Dave for upwards of 25yrs. Shane does good work and is fairly quick depending on how close to hunting season you are. Barry is slow and misses things. He mounted a sight to a rifle and left the screws too long so it jammed up. Thats a newbie mistake and not something a good gunsmith would miss. Then again we all make mistakes. Barry knows what he is doing but he is slow. Shane will tell you if its not something he can do right off too.
