ok, have a beak like a wood cock, but not as long. white tail, about the size of a woodcock, maybe a tad bigger. almost an orange outline on the larger wing feathers. predominately brown. very loud. groups of 3 or more usually seen.

Shorebird?
Probably snipe if so.
Killdeer??
would it be a flicker
I was thinking flicker, but couldn;t find anything about their group size, always see them in groups. tons around right now...
they are a little bigger then a robin and they do a lot of damage to houses, part of the pecker family.
never seen so many, and they're mixed in with the grouse.... real pain...
maybe they migrate i know grouse eat grasshoppers maybe they are after them to , it is fun watching them jump after them.
So how do they taste and welcome back! FredOriginally Posted by Amphibious
