sweet, looks good! is it going to be removable? (ie forklift etc) or is it a part of the trailer now?
what are its dimensions?
half the people in this world are below average intelligence
Some more details are:
-Professionaly welded main frame
-Steel stud framing
-Walls are 3/8" standard sheathing
-Floor is 3/4" pressure treated plywood
-Fully insulated including doors
-Exterior has been completely fibreglassed (resin & mat)
-Reinforced doorways with steel tubing
The plan is that two quads can be stored in it on the drive up, then removed at camp and the removable or foldable bunks and can than be installed. It will also have either a propane or diesel furnace. A deep cycle battery and 1000W honda generator will be wired in and stored in a front compartment. Unless we find a more suitable trailer, it will be used on the trailer in the first picture. We have also considered giving it its own set of axles but we haven't come up with any concrete ideas yet.
Feel free to ask questions, we have come to a bit of hault on the finishing details but I will continue to post our progress.
Anthony
Dimensions are 17'L x 6' 7"W x7' 4"H. Its currently sitting on the trailer in the picture but we can move with the forklift if we find something more suitable.
Yeah nice work , it'll do the job But what kind of caboose is that ? Paint it RED !
It's hard to tell in the photo but did you use hat track or steel stud on the flat as cieling joists? What's the running total for material only?
Nice rig. I helped a friend build a 14'x7' trailer pretty much like yours. Put 3 folding bunks along the front and sides and drives his quad in when traveling. He put some old trailer windows in too. I noticed you curved your roof a bit. He did the same. It's nice and warm with a catalytic heater in it. It didn't hurt that he's a carpenter by trade. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
