Best way to shave weight is do 'er like the old guys.

Take a tarp, trapper nelson, sleeping bag, some meat, your favorite pair of jeans and head to the mountains.

All I'm planning on carrying on my back this fall is a day pack and gun.

Hunters definitely aren't the same as they were 40 years ago.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

I have come to the conclusion from some of the knowledgable fellows on this site that you are really getting serious about going light when you give up on buying clothes in camo paterns.
I shaved over 1lb of weight getting rid of some all weather camo hiking pants and going to the NorthFace paramounts along with really thin thermal underwear underneath. Keeps me warm (even in cooler mountain weather) and they dry out fast and last a very long time.

Gators are a good item to have.

Mountain House Pro-Paks help save space and a little bit of weight.

Heavy or Light Garbage Bags for a groundsheet.

Pristine Water Drops Vs. Water Filter.

Jetboil Stove (pot/stove in one setup and very light and fuel efficient)

I have come to the conclusion that my pack/gear weight isn't going to be shaved down much further aside from aquiring a lighter sleeping bag. Losing the christmas chub is the current goal. It seems the most logical way to shave weight from my mountain hunting rig.

Once the tape worm swapping starts, I will buy you a drink and trade some bighorn spots for some Stone spots, while SSS and Brambles get closer
