Up to now we have tried and enjoyed the ground venison, garlic coil and garlic dinner sausage that we had from our 1/3 of last Novembers deer, but we hadn't tried the steaks (or roast).
Tonight we had steak. Marinaded it in red wind, olive oil, garlic, rosemary and montreal steak seasoning for ~24 hours. Took a couple of recipes from the HBC cookbook and combined the ideas....George Foreman grill for 7 minutes (1 inch thick). They were perfect. My older daughter, the most ....timid....of wild game eaters hadn't been listening, after a couple of bites she said "wait, this is deer?" Served up with garlic onion chedder cheese mashed potatoes and a fresh salad....I guess I get to go hunting again
.
Thanks for the recipe ideas and putting the cookbook together!
James
