Re: Help to ID Old Ben Pearson LongBow ?

One of these days. I'm going to be able to indulge myself and get 'stick n string'. One of these days.

I love the looks of this one below, but don't know (and have no way of finding out) anything about how it shoots, hand shock (if any), feel, practicality, and all that esoteric type stuff that goes into choosing a bow.

    One of these days.........

Nice clean lines Will. My biggest concern is handshock/vibration. Maybe I'm spoilt from shooting compound too long, but most of the ones that I've had the chance to shoot have had a significant degree of vibes from the shot.

Plus I need to be able to install a D-loop for a release - hand/wrist accident about a year ago has left my ring and little finger with no feeling and very little strength in the rest of the fingers.

Dan ... thats the Game getter If I recall right ....

I have shot one a time or two .... Less shock than my Internature bulleye

I really really like that bow ....

My Buddy Dennis Hooey shoots one and he does extremly well with it both on the course and in the woods

Yup, it's the Hoyt Gamegetter Mike. Does Hooey use a D-loop? Shooting a recurve with a loop is feasible, yes/no?

In a quality longbow, hand shock shouldn't be an issue. Mass produced, entry level bows might be a problem and if you ever get a chance to shoot a Jerry Hill longbow... decline.

Plus I need to be able to install a D-loop for a release
Why wouldn't you be able to? It goes on the string, right?

Will - we seemed to have hi-jacked your thread. Sorry. I didn't mean to butt in, that's for sure.

No worries I've pretty much been assured it's a 1939 Bow so this thread is doomed for the slow decent into forum oblivion....

it's had a refurbish sometime in it's life....lost the markings and the lower half of the Logo during the refinnish.
Interesting Old Stick at any rate.

    Hijack away
