The 16 hour work out resulted in a stubborn elk how didn't know when to stay down, with a lung gone in her we tracked her for about 2 klm and finally caught up to her as she was half way down a 200 ft ravine. We measured our assent with the quarters in inches and with an average temp of -20c in 2 to 3 feet of snow it made for the hardest recovery both our us have ever done. I guess it all balances out as our second elk I was able to drive up to with the truck in chains. All in all I would go back again in a heart beat next year. My buddy has the pictures, hope to post them soon.
Thanks for all the info you guys! It all helps---that's why this is such a great web site!
Look forward to them - Thanks. My buddy has the pictures, hope to post them soon.
