    The caption from the photo

"In search of mates, freedom and food, coyotes are moving into Kelowna. Pictured, a coyote on Ziprick Road watches a woman enter her car Thurday morning."

How can a coyote move into town expecting "freedom" They are not in kennels or chained to trees in the "forest" are they....

Dumb captions......Is the coyote eyeing up the woman as a mate??? Or as food???

Sorry, I am a little pissy this afternoon

    Rocks, I hear ya
Some of the headlines and captions and comments in mainstream media really let the lack of intel show through
Not a problem for most of the uninformed sheeple reading it too

Its nothing new, but it seems anything to do with wildlife is a news item these days. Sign of the times I guess

About the yotes, I had two sitting at the end of my driveway at 4 a.m. today, serenading my two dogs across the fence.

Sensationalizm sells papers. some of these reporters have absoutely no idea what they are talking about and of course those that read it in the paper or hear it on the news think it is the gospel truth. We are into the tough time of year for most wildlife. The late winter months combined with breeding season has coyotes on the move. Why in the heck would they not move into the city? People continue to leave their pet food outside, cats are free range and there is garbage everywhere. On top of this there are people that are acutally feeding them. And one wonders why there is a problem.

Funny-we has some friends that don't really like hunting(ok...not really my friends). She told me to shoot as many yotes as possible as they own a small dog and are constantly worried about losing it.

I live a block from there and I often hear them at night. Never that close but probably in Springfield park, about a Km from where that pic was taken.

I think we should decide, here and now, just what distance is to be considered "Out of range".
That way the guys that can't shoot will know what they should be able to do, and the guys that can shoot will know when they are being unethical
