    Cold weather hunts

Hunted a few times during the cold snap last week. From past experience I scouted mid-day, early afternoon to see where the birds were feeding. It seems they move towards the warmest time of the day for the most part. Headed out between 10 and 11am and had our birds by 2pm. I was hunting grass fields planted over from harvested corn from last sept..
If ground is frozen, remember a cordless drill if you have stake based field decoys or for silos. A larger bit to break ground for the robo stake.

You lower mainlanders certainly have a different perception of “cold” than those of us in the rest of the province do…….nice pictures though Dano…..….as usual.

I could provide video evidence of a retriever plunging into moving water at minus 10 degrees and a foot of snow on the ground if this site made it more convenient to post such images…….…now that’s what cold looks like.
