Had an interesting hunt Christmas eve....

Buddy Chris called me just before Christmas and said a friends father in law would like to come out for a hunt if we could swing it. We set it up for Christmas eve.
Turns out the guys we hunted with were Wayne Izumi and his son.
Everyone shot well and we ended up with just under a limit and a bonus 2 geese, much better than I had expected!!!

When I was in my early teens in Ontario, I lived a few doors down from Waynes famous brother Bob for a time. Both very personable gents and were always happy to talk fishing with a youngster.

When my father, Bill Otway, was inducted into the Canadian Fishing Hall of Fame, Bob Izumi did a great speech about dad. It was only a few months after dad had passed away and I accepted the award but never could have done a speech like he did.
I’m forever grateful to Bob for doing that. They are both great people and it’s no surprise to me that they have been so successful.

Knew your Dad, and worked on a handful or projects with him.
Had no idea you are his son.
He was a remarkable Man - a True Gentleman and a Truly Dedicated Advocate for all things fishing.

I did duck boxes with dad starting back in the early '70's, continue doing boxes and have my grandkids getting involved now.
Dad was a big influence to a lot of sportsman, a goal of his was to ensure future generations would be able to enjoy the outdoors.
