Getting the stank out of pack

My stone glacier bag has a funk to it. Not because of a dead animal but because I somehow missed taking a peach out of it and let it marinate in my hot garage over the summer. Now it smells like fermented peach. What’s your go to method for getting a funk out of your gear? I don’t have time to buy any special detergents as I’m leaving on a hunt in a couple days.

Given the time you have, I would wash it as best you can, soap, warm water. After it's dry, try some unscented baby powder (designed to get rid of the worst odors).

Take it off the frame and take it to the car wash. Hit it with the wand.

Try a vinegar solution . Maybe baking soda when dry . Something non toxic if you going to put edibles in the pack.

vinegar is good or even a mix with baking soda. Several websites have recipes, even a couple of homemade scent block sprays.

One quart hydrogen peroxide/ 1/4 cup baking soda/1 teaspoon unscented liquid soap

Spray on liberally, let sit for half hour then hit the car wash. May have to do it twice.
This is the same mixture for use on a dog when it gets hit by a skunk.

When my stuff gets funky like my fishing waders I soak them in the tub with some borax rinse and repeat. I figure the borax has a neutral smell and is used for curing roe the fish won’t mind. Should work for your pack too

may work on skunk but not advisable on fabrics as the hyd peroxide can discolour dark fabrics

Guess i'm one of the guys that doesn't worry about the colour of his pack because SG's aren't dark.
