One of the mallards in the last pic was a cripple that sailed into chest deep grass about 90 yards away across a couple creek channels.
Sent her on a blind retrieve on what i thought was the best line. She needed to be handled once to get back on line then Iost sight of her when she was in the grass. About 6 minutes later she appeared with the bird.
As much fun as I know she has, watching her work is the best part of it for me.

My wife made me up some more Pad Thai using mallard breasts. Delicious!!!!! Definitely my new favourite marsh duck recipe
