That's one of the best story's I've read in a long time!
Congratulations on your awesome buck, and looking forward to hearing about your future adventures.
This is what HBC should be about!

Good read, congrats, tfs
re the trailer shell, has it turned out to be the perfect configuration, or would you change anything about the trailer itself
am considering building one, was planning on double barn doors and 7 ft height
Glad to say I have hunted Northern BC
Simon Fraser had pretty good judgement on what he found in BC
Raising my son as a hunter was some of the most fun and rewarding times I have had! Great job Dad!
Thanks HH Hal,
The Trailer is great in general as it is. I love the configuration space wise. Two bunks at the back, with table and bench down there is a comfortable amount of room. It works awesome for two people. I have done a hunting trip with my son and two of my nephews, fits two cots nicely with table and benches folded up. I insulated the walls while I had it open as I stripped it right down to bare studs and floor joists. floor is now 1" plywood and 1/2" plywood on walls. I didn't insulate the floor or ceiling as the ceiling can be done anytime if I cared to. The weather is the biggest variable. It's quite warm in summer and can be quite chili in fall, however, it is what it is and there are ways to improve that. I cut the windows in, they are from a city bus. That was the biggest game changer, love the windows. The double doors I think are actually better than a drop down ramp as you can easily crack a door open at night to get a breeze etc. Everyone has different ideas for these things and to answer your question, it is the perfect configuration for me. If I could change one thing about the trailer it would be heavier leaf springs. They seem to hold up as is, but I'm the type to want to over engineer things and I feel that would be the weakest link with a load and backroads.
Thanks
Montec
