    Wall tent stove fans

We upgraded to a 16x20 wall tent this year, really noticed the temp difference from near the stove and ceiling to the back wall. In our old 12x14 we didn’t notice it nearly as much. Looking into a stove fan to circulate the air better, one of the heat powered ones. Anybody have insight? $150 one vs $40 one? Any issues with it getting too hot? Our stove is big and generates lots of heat. I see most are only rated to 600F or so. Not sure how hot the metal gets. Just looking for real world experiences on a wall tent stove. Not an at home permanent stove.

    thanks.

Any glow on the metal means you've surpassed 800F

I was looking at them, and their various operating ranges, too. My coworker has bought some over the years. He likes them, but says they eventually wear out. Although, I'd think occasionally using one on trips it would last a long time.

I'd guess that they would really help to dry out clothes.

Just pick up a couple of the heat activated ones. They work well and keep the air moving.

Princess Auto has their dual blade one on sale right now for $60, and if you’re not satisfied…

A buddy bought one for his shop, is happy. I’d expect good results in a tent too.

Another thing that helps immensely, is to cover the far end of the tent with an insulated tarp, and while they are bulky, they are useful to keep meat cool on the trip home too. You may not want to wrap the tent with it after that though.

Something I have used in conjunction with a fan is a sheet metal shroud behind my stove. It allows my stove to go almost right to the canvas and it reflects the heat back into the tent. It’s kind of a \_/ shape but less steep angles and approx 4-5’ tall.

I've got a buddy heater and I like it, but I can't imagine using it in a wall tent.
