As hal says its breeding season and they should be running around alot , also the cold mean's they have to eat alot more as well .
I used to get the farmers to call me up if they saw too many coyotes . They didn't mind a few for mouse/vole control .
I also would put out bait in fields where I could . Best year was 29 . Rem 25-06 bull barrel good to 400yds or so

What do you use for bait? And I read on here not long ago never nail/tie down bait for Coyotes/Wolves? But nail/tie down for Lions is a good thing
