Awesome, thanks for sharing
A great experience for everyone. Congratulations.
Good going Family
re rifle, do you pack two loads? the mouse fart and a boomer? requires scope dialing or just reticle lines maybe?
Glad to say I have hunted Northern BC

thanks guys, it was a great day
In that rifle I usually shoot 40gr Vmax @ 3650 fps. It's sighted in at 210 yards (+1" high at 100m). With the mouse fart load, it hits about 3" low at 100 meters. The rifle currently wears a Vortex scope with the BDC reticle. When I adjust the magnification down to 5x, the first reticle line down is my aiming point with the light load. If the scope had an exposed turret, I would just dial up 3moa rather than using the reticle.
Despite it's low speed of 2170 fps, the mouse fart load is still only 2" low at 140 yards. Mouse fart energy impact at 50 yards is about what a full power load would land with at 400 yards

versatile setup there, will have to try the same for my 223

In my 223, I run 9 grains TBoss under a 50gr bullet. About 1950 fps from 16.1" barrel. Hits about 1.5moa low at 100m, when sighted in for 200y full throttle load

One of the very finest reports on hunting, the way it SHOULD be done, in my not entirely humble opinion, and I am impressed. Your lad is lucky and you are wise parents to show him how both fine food and necessary predator control can come from proper hunting. Good one, keep it up!!!! Dewey
I can't get over the size of the mitts and boots on that cat. Pretty cool to see size comparison with a human hand.
Outstanding! Awesome share.
Hopefully your share will inspire others to do so too.
