Good quick use slings for being alone in Grizz country

    Hey guys,

I use a safari sling on some of my rifles, and this allows me to have hands free all the time and it is really quick to shoot a rifle. There good but can make the neck/shoulder sore after hours/all day and not sure how well they'll do with a large pack (backpack hunting).

The one I am looking for would be more for shotguns, but don't see why it couldn't hold rifles too, I seen a really nice one on a thread but can't remember which one the guy was up north hunting Moose and it was a defense shotgun kind of hard to explain how it was but the butt was down by his hips and it came a little out from his body the barrel going up.

This sling would just need to allow me to fire a shotgun fast hip or shouldered at a potential charging Bear and the gun hanging hands free.

What do you guys use for something like this in Grizz country? Hope that is a clear enough explanation

Home made Kif gun bearer , web bucket hangs from a belt and rifle barrel is held into the chest with a qr strap on a pack strap
I takes getting used to having the tube up in one's face all the time but its the best rig for fast deployement

next best is a single-point sling attached to the pack straps
Glad to say I have hunted Northern BC

Simon Fraser had pretty good judgement on what he found in BC

I tried the gunbearer, really disliked it. I use a Slik Sling now. Can attach to any pack. Really happy with it. Only takes a second to get the rifle in hand and keeps it secure on the pack. Sight sponsor Great North Precision sells them.

No way I can keep my rifle in my hands in some of the places I hunt.

I got the slick sling on my check out list, what is the dealbreaker for you on the gun bearer?

    X2 on the latter comment.
