What is the name of the espar knockoff you are using? Thanks

Very cool. I lack talent though in this sort of thing though and wouldn't be able to build one.

Lots of the knock off Espar diesel heaters on amazon. Very slick units actually. Will need a deep cycle battery, generator and battery charger to use it but worth it. We put a 5kw in our cargo trailer conversion. Used it last year, didn’t even burn 20L of diesel over 2 weeks of hunting. Ram it on low the entire time.

I just went down the rabbit hole on these yesterday evening. Watched one video of a fellow modifying one to heat a roof top tent. Not a bad video to watch to figure out how these things work and possible modification ideas if any mods are needed for your husbands application

He's using one of the knockoffs... VEVOR to be specific. There are a lot of different options. You could check out some of these product descriptions and reviews:

This is the brand I use to heat my 6x10 camperize cargo trailer. I bought the 44d model though. The first time I used it it was -14 and I accidentally left it on high. I couldn't believe it heated the trailer to 35 degrees.
