This year (2022) because of staff shortages they said they would not being doing that and I get it. The group next to us got a bull early on and had to go get a ton of ice to keep their elk cool as the Monday was also a stat holiday and Ricks would be closed. So 2 days in the near 30 degree temperatures.

If Ricks stops processing wild game and the guy in kimberly closes down, then what will the options be, everyone will have to bring a big freezer and gen set to keep it running.

depending where your hunting…..the Usw hall in elkford has a meat cooler. I think they charge $10day.

.99/lb locally in Vanderhoof at the Speckled Sow. I know they were super busy this fall, apparently butchered 158 wild game animals from Sept 1 to the end of October

Hang tight boys.. I am selling my place to move to Cranbrook and
am in the middle of my meat cutters course.
Big fridge/freezer and shop are the first things I’m building out there.

not sure the total number at Ricks meats in cranbrook but last year my elk was like number 27 and that was on Sept. 5. The last elk for our group was shot on sept 9th and I think it was #45 if memory serves me right. This was junior season deer and archery elk. Would like to know what their season total would be.
