    Best Bush Chitter

One of the appreciated creature comforts of a camp is a good practical Chitter…I got a 45 gal plastic drum, cut off the top third ,traced a toilet seat on the lid ,cut it out and then drilled two holes to fasten down the toilet seat and lid, and voila’ I had a delux bush chitter…all it cost me was the seat and lid…comfortable, easy to clean, light ,practical and toss in the truck to bring home.i just as easily could have left in camp ,being heavy plastic it is impervious to rot…

Here’s one I stumbled across one day in a pretty remote spot.

Stumbled across this one when doing bushwork in the yukon years ago figured it was an old geologist spike camp spot. They were even nice to leave a skin mag in a plastic bag.

I was all ready to make wood cabinet until I figured out cutting down a 45 gal plastic drum and using the top 1/3 with a toilet seat screwed on was a better option..

I remember finding a rotten stump overlooking a canyon. The stump was perfect size and height. I often reminisce about that stump.

I can appreciate a localized pooper when you have a large group using a small area for an extended period of time; and the above examples are no doubt nice.

Personally though, I'd rather just go freestyle. Maybe that's just conditioning from 30 years of logging and not having another option. Haha.

Nice. No land mines. I hate land mines. Especially in the dark. Ha ha
