Yup. stands are set up, this Saturday, Dec 03 on, we'll be in camp, without cell service. Going to be cool. We'll see what we can see.
Hope to come home with a xmas tree and some venison.

Good luck!! Always wanted to head out to the koots for the late archery deer season. Sounds like a fun hunt

Perhaps we should discuss it further for another year. First, we need to reinvigorate our whitetail population. There are deer out there, but the GOS rifle on does, makes all whitetail sketchy and scarce. Ten years ago I might count 30 deer in a 2 hour period. 5 years ago, 10 deer in a 2 hour period, last couple of years, seeing one deer would be great. This year seems a bit different. With 6 stands up, looking at track and early Tcam images, I'm seeing small groups of 3 to 5 deer moving through. It's enough for a hunt. The ground is not unfamiliar to us, so we maximize what we have.

After hours is great. One can put time into a quality dinner and social time.

I have 6 stands up. I think all are in large fir trees. With the amount of snow that came down today, the deer will likely all be taking shelter beneath..... the boughs.

Safe travels if you're heading inland.

Guessing you are still out there JT?

Tough hunting conditions in our usual haunts this year.
2.5 + feet of snow making access more than problematic combined with rather spooky deer.
Been at it 5 days straight with no real opportunities yet.
Regrouping today, back at it again tomorrow...

Cheers - Nog here, not Tad. Simply using his PC at the moment...
