Also if you could only hunt one species which one and why?
The species and region can be 2 different questions/answers unrelated.

Elk, Region 8.
close to home, know there’s lots of bulls and there isn’t much better than elk meat!
also ALOT more of a challenge than moose IMO, which will keep it fun for a lot longer.
Hopefully that's a decision I will never have to contemplate.
Region 9.... always 9

For me it'd probably be region 7, even though I have never been there let alone hunted it. But I think it has most diverse range of species.
Of the species I have hunted so far would probably be Blacktail for me, something about hunting the coast mountains in the rain.
For the regions that I know, region 8, but I haven't had much opportunity yet to hunt region 7 and I look forward to scouting/hunting it in the future..
Favorite species to hunt is elk, by far the most thrilling for me, but a close second because of the challenges they present would be whitetails..
Region 7, bar none.
Greatest variety and fewest people.
1. Human over population
2. Government burden and overreach
Deer in #8, that's where our cabin is, we spend a ton of time there and we don't have to travel far to hunt, sometimes as close as 10 minutes from the cabin. Makes life easy.
