    Too many go up there.
R5 closed for 10 days it becomes a real gong show.
The any buck season gets too much attention now as well.
Really tough to find a big boy now up there.
Most bucks probably don’t make it past 3.5 yr of age.
Lots of folks having more success around 70 mile.
And then there is R5 after the 20th for sure.

    Fully understand.
Living down in the LM makes weekends hard to travel any sort of decent range.

As you come in from the west, there is a field on the left, the road went around a rock outcrop corner . It gone now. They had chipped quite a hollow there, dangerous in fact. Ruble was just ahead of there when we were last up there rockhounding. It poor quality, it fades in the sunlight. There is a fair bit of common opal in that country as well.

Scottie is a freaking HWY in October. Hiked way up on a ridge and stayed till dark. The amount of vehicles driving that road at last light was comical. That being said there are plenty of deer in there if you know where to look.

    Hell of a day
just moved to Clinton this summer. Second time exploring Clinton area. I went big bar-jesmond- Kelly lake circle this morning for the first time. I won’t be going back unless for grouse. Lots of people and lots of private property. Most grouse where smart and took off at first sight. I found a group that just sat there- picked off 4 grouse.
    now it’s about 12pm
and I don’t want to go home yet so I drive down the hill to Scottie creek. Head up here for the first time too. Lots of fire damage and I only seen one other truck. I went 20 clicks in and decided to turn around. Came back down and went low over a single lane bridge and back up for maybe 3 clicks.
coming up this switch back area up on the hill I see a black bear just walking along diagonally away from me. I get out and walk up, no rest and shoot for the anchor
Nailed him, doesn’t go far and expires.
just skinned him out and soaking in the views at the end of Scottie road overlooking the highway back towards cache creek

    was a great day

next adventure, I’ll be going to the usual spring bear area for some fun for the first time in the fall
