Boil-in-bag veggies or rice or taters are an option too
No fuss or spillage, water is ready for cleanup
Glad to say I have hunted Northern BC

Simon Fraser had pretty good judgement on what he found in BC

It may not be a “fire” cooked dinner but my go to easy camp dinner is Sausauges with a pack of uncle bens and stag chili all mixed up.

beef steaks, foil wrapped potatoes with the trimming, bag salad

Get a cast iron pan, your options will open up drastically. I know it's not what you really want to do, but...

I don’t bring a lot of stuff with me so that’s kind of where I draw the line. I have a foreman 500 and a 5 foot tub trailer to pack enough stuff for 5 people. The weight is the killer and drinking water is probably the worst thing I bring. I pump water from the lake for cooking, but drink bottles water.

This is a bit of a game changer though. The kids picked me up this Kelly kettle and hobo stove for Father’s Day this year. We cooked bacon, sausage and those preformed potato patties on the hobo stove and made coffee and noodles with the kettle part. I should’ve brought some onions and stuff to sauté with potatoes. Next time I guess.

I love corn in the husk, just soaked in water and straight on the coals.

But I think I am going to get one of those fire dutch ovens, it's time to eat something with a spoon while out hunting.
Brunswick stew, or chilli, wax beans, goulash etc.
