Re: what phone for spotter pics

Older phone is probably best. I have one of the newer phones with 3 cameras and it is a nightmare because the phone keeps switching which lens it uses.

And of course, the moment it does that you are no longer getting a picture through your spotter but to the side somewhere.

I have not found a way to stop the stupid phone from doing that and focusing with ONE camera only. Will likely need another app that locks the camera to just one of the three lenses.

    Very annoying!

The phone skope app resolved that with my iPhone.

The moment app also works for locking the lenses on the iPhones.

Iv been through an iPhone 7, 9, and now 11 with photos through a spotter, I haven't really noticed much of difference between them in photo quality I don’t think.

I'd suggest an iPhone 8 plus with the larger screen, can find them in good condition for fairly cheap (FB marketplace search), and the larger screen is also handy if you run hunt buddy or iHunter on it too

I had great luck with my iphone 8, lifeproof case and phoneskope. Waterproof and never had any issues with it.

PS, I have an extra iphone 8 if you want to buy!
