Those sure don't look like sockeye eyes. Can you see if there are spots anywhere? It kind of looks like there spots on the back. Would need to see if there's only spots on the top half of the tail to confirm its a coho for sure. But I'm with you, just based on this photo it looks more like a coho than a sockeye

Gotta love the internet sleuths lookimg at a poor quality pic...

Went out theother night after work to donate some gear to the river...lots of fun, landed 3 chinook, 2 sockeye 1 buck and 1 doe and a steelhead...had a screamer chinook on that eventually snapped my leader after pulling half my reel off...the sockeye action was slow but still way better than watching fishing on youtube lol

Going to head out to sandheads on saterday, hopefully theres still some fish left after all the commercial fishing and fridays coming rain...

Test fishery at Cottonwood had 397 sockeye yesterday (37 previous day) seems to be a push of fish entering the Fraser.
Whonnock a bit better over previous day.
Today/tomorrow might be a good day on the river.

Thats a Coho....an interior Fraser Coho to be exact from the bar it was caught.<br>

If anybody thinks thats a sockeye they should quit fishing or do more research on salmon ID.

Honestly couldnt tell if the post was real or fake....

Went out for 3 hours this afternoon, hooked into one but it got off closer to shore. Was fun regardless.

Look in the mouth it is a easy tell to ID a Sockeye and Coho... Sockeye have a pinkish tongue and pinkish inner inside bottom jaw. They also have very few teeth mostly gums, like an old man, at this time almost all Sockeye have a red hue on their sides

If a fish is still chrome, look in the mouth. Coho have perfect sharp, fine teeth all in a row, they have blackish tongue and gum line.
