About 5 years ago we fished out of Tahsis on a 3 day charter. One of the days was out at the whales tail. This guy didn't want to anchor or jig for anything. We were trolling at about 100 -120 feet on the downrigger in about 300' of water. We caught salmon but most surprising to me was that we got our limit of halibut. 15-20lb fish roughly, I didn't think they would come off the bottom that much for a lure. Also, almost evetything was caught on a white hootchie that trip. He trolled for everthing.

He seems like a good guy, appears to know his stuff and a good little operation going in a very hot spot to fish,

We fished for Hali 2 seasons in a row without anchor.
North of port tenders was very succesful, and the other out of ucuelet which worked out in the end, but took longer than expected.
The nice surprise was catching pacific cod out of ten free and all the whales.
I don’t care if I catch Hali if I can catch the cod again!!!!!
