And, yes I know the benefits of diesel trucks.
    But just curious.
hydro one in Ontario switched their fleet trucks some years ago from diesel to the v10 gassers after the 6.0L fiasco. It was cheaper to pay more for gas than repair the diesel fleet. They might be back to diesel now as I’m sure their truck turnover is high. The businesses will mostly do whatever is prudent. I told my buddy he needs to add a fuel surcharge to every contract he does now just to keep his margins.

as for me I’m still heading out for my hunt next week, fuel prices be damned. Thankfully I can afford it but does make a guy more cautious about heading out far now.

Yup, it’s official. Never been happier that I sold my diesel truck in April.

‘I just bought diesels because I enjoyed the power and mileage, but coming up I’ll order a gas truck as I don’t need the diesel anymore as i rarely tow anything heavy.

I guess the fat’s are a bit more quieter these days!?
But then again, probably more hunters in foot bumping into each other in the woods.
I think the prices will certainly be much higher by next summer.
I can see a lot of communities taking a hit on their bottom line as less people take less road trips due to the costs.

    Re: Fuel prices?

I made the original post in this thread on June 12. Price of gas was $2.20.

As it turned out I only made one big game trip this season, a return trip of about 400 km give or take. Gas was over $3.30 in Vancouver at the time. On my way out of town and back I got it for $2.23. It dropped to $1.87 in Vancouver a few days ago so I topped up. Pretty happy I didn't have to go farther than that, though I miss being out in several of my more distant hunting destinations.

    Re: Fuel prices?

I miss when my a friend said “ wanna go hunting right now” (last minute Friday night), and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get laid that weekend or could go!!
I sure as heck didn’t even consider the cost of fuel!
    The Good old days!!!
