    Re: Fuel prices?

    Meh,
il hunt around my place. I moved to the EK a year or two ago. Last year I finally found some decent mule deer, hopefully this year I can connect. My couple of spots are about a half hour drive at the most, and a 1-3 hour hike. Unless they start taxing boot leather, my plans won’t change.

Not going to change mine at all. Just means I’ll work a couple extra days to make up for the extra fuel costs. It does suck having the prices where they’re at, but I’m not going to let that mess with my hunting plans. No biggie!

    Re: Fuel prices?

Changed our holidays. Instead of heading west down through the OK and EK, we are heading east to Alberta for our camping trip.

Hunting is always close to home, so that won't change. BS LEH is putting up more road blocks than gas prices......

    Cheers

It sucks for sure but we’ll go where we go, just a little more broke!

Not drastically, but definitely making some adjustments.

I will likely try to make it out for fewer trips but make each one a bit longer.

Question is….will there be less road hunting? Lol

Yup, it will have an effect. Instead of going for a few days to a week at a time, I’ll make it count more and go for 10 days to 2 weeks.

    Re: Fuel prices?

I gutted a house in the Koots, and am in the process of rebuilding it from the studs up and building a new shop on that land for my business. I can assure, it’s super fun doing the 7 hour drive twice per week! Im getting 10-12 mpg in my pig of a truck pulling a big trailer each way. Luckily, the nearest RR radio frequency sign is 50’ from the corner of my new property, so I’ll be able to hunt on $10 in gas when the season starts.

It’s an effed up world when fuel is the biggest cost item in my house reno!
If we’re not supposed to eat animals, how come they’re made out of meat?

High fuel costs and living in BC do not go hand in hand.

And yes, I do expect that road traffic will be curbed while out hunting.
Road hunting was never my thing anyways.
Bit I think some locals will enjoy it.

We had talked about this up coming season fuel savings because of it.
Not now, but should be even to last year.
    still not good.
