    Re: Fuel prices?

I met a guy Turkey hunting in April who owns a bunch of Shell stations in the LML. He was saying a lot of the smaller “independent” stations in the interior are now owned by the same group. They are purposely buying them all up so they can jack prices up by removing competitors. Here at the lake, one of our longtime (40+ year) locals asked the staff of one of these stations how they could justify charging $.20 or $.25 per liter more than stations in the next town (Trail), and the reply was “because we can”. Luckily we have the option of buying in the US at the station right at the border, which is owned by a group of four local BC people so the money goes back to our community. The gougers can get phucked!

I wonder if prices in Alberta will be going back up now that the election is over? Or will the UCP voters be rewarded with another tax cut??

1.63 almost makes my Mouth Water.

    24. May, I paid 1.74 for Diesel in Victoria Peninsula Coop having a membership there. They are ripping Members off left & right to pay overpaid Executives. The same outfit sold me 1100 Ltr marked Diesel (which is exactly the same as regular Diesel)for my Furnace last Fall for 2.40 a Litre even there are no road Taxes applicable.

    25. May I saw Diesel advertised on the Fraser Highway. for 1.66 near Aldercoove.

    Cheers

    Re: Fuel prices?

I made the initial posting nearly a year ago now when gas was $2.20.

Now it is $1.96 a litre where I live.

I applied for LEH in Region 5 anyway. I have preferred areas in Region 6 but all my gang is applying in 5 so I guess i have to go with the flow.

Expect it to get worse in the near future. Trudeau and his followers have outlined the climate change agenda for the country and will implement it regardless of the financial hardship it causes to the working class. Look for gas, heating and electricity costs to continue rising and this burden to be carried by the average joe Canadian. The sooner he gets voted out, the sooner this country can start rebuilding and undoing the years of damage he has brought upon Canada.
