Minimum testing is cerf for eyes, and hips and elbows for displaysia. Most lab breeders are also testing for CNM (Centro nuclear myopothy), EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse) and PRA (retinal atrophy)

These and tests should be done on both the dam and sire BEFORE the breeding is done to ensure there are no “structural” issues (hips, eyes and elbows) for the breeding not to be done and the other tests mentioned are genetic which a breeder can easily do via cheek swab and submitted to an appropriate testing lab.

These days there is no reason for a breeder not to do this testing other than the fact they are too cheap to ensure their puppy buyers are getting the healthiest possible puppy.
