    Any solutions for storing and transporting chimneys for stove/heater?

    Hi there,

    I'm looking at getting a chimney setup for my diesel heater. However, as far as I understand, I have to be lugging around 8 sections of 4" x 18" pipe. Does anybody have an ingenious design for the chimney that allows one to pack it away neatly?

    Thanks!

    Telescoping stove pipes.
    Might not draw as good as straight pipe but the convenience level is high

    Lots of woodstoves designed for wall tents have a chimney system that the tubes fit inside one another. Probably there are similar ones for your heater.

    This. Same system came with my wood stove. Works just the same.

    Yup, a nesting stove pipe would work.

    Its a messy Business without perfect solutions.
    I recommend using a Plastic Tote with well fitting Lid where regular 6"OD Stovepipe sections fit in nicely. Depending on total Stovepipe sections needed you may need 2 or 3 Totes. Since you are using a Diesel Heater you may could get away with one full 8Ft 3"OD lenght of Thinwall SS Pipe. Put a Cap on each end and be done with it.

    Cheers

    I'm not sure if you can get some titanium foil wide enough to make a 4" pipe but I ordered a stove pipe from Seek Outside for the stove I made. It rolls up and fits in a tube they sell as well.

    Here's a link to a video about their stove pipes;

    Have you used it yet? That looks like a two man job and might not be too easy to roll up without a nice flat table to work on?? I can definitely see the benefit to that style of chimney though.

    After you burn it in for the first time it remembers the shape and is easy to set up and take down. I can do it myself no problem with a 7’ pipe.
