Great story. I remember my first grouse, too.
Knowledgeable shooters agree- The 375 Ruger is the NEW KING of all 375 caliber cartridges. ALL HAIL THE NEW KING!

My first grouse was with my .177 pellet gun. I remember it well! Excellent story, well written, and I was there with you as I read it!! This is what hunting is all about. You are just entering the rabbit hole now!! Thanks again for sharing!! Moosinaround

Thanks so much to everyone for the positive feedback. I moonlight as a magazine writer/photographer, but have not yet contributed to a hunting or fishing publication. Thought I might dip my toe in the water with fellow hunters before sending out queries.

In the meantime, I'll start crafting Sweet Success Part II (Moose)

I agree. Your story was written in a way that looked professional. [ writing is not my strongpoint ] Thanks for posting your story.

It does appear so, and methinks we could use a lot more of that kind of content around here!

I have been lazy of late with the hunting tales. Have one I will get to from this season, and another from our last run to Alberta's Badlands in search of mulies again. The latter will take a while. The former should be up within a week or so...
