    If that litle scrap in the pic is an antler shard, that is just the kind of thing that brings about a vet visit.
    Antlers can shatter , just like bones.

    Study a shed, then study an antler that has been cut off....very easy to separate them just by how they look.

    I knocked that piece off shortly after pic.
    It would have been a shard.
    Generally she just scrapes off the antler into what you could call a "powder form".
    But thanks for the heads up.
    This is already her 4th antler she is starting to go thru in 2 years.

    Even hard beef bones like leg bones are really tough on dogs teeth.
