I’d like to know a little more about this individual. Is it so hard to cultivated field? A fence? There are a gazillion black bears around. Why on private property? Or had he never left the lower mainland before??

From what I recall this happened down Pemberton Meadows road. A few more km's and they would have been on the Hurley FSR and into legal shooting zone. It's not like there is a huge shortage of bears around that you need to shoot one out of a field.

Notice they don't post his name. When they don't post the name it means he isn't a white guy. If he was white his name would be mentioned 50 times in the story and he would lose his job. My bet he is from Richmond !!!

That first field on the right just after the bridge past the hops farm often has bears in it. I saw two one day. In another news story I just found on the 'net, the CO service supplied a photo of that field.

I live in Lillooet and you would be surprised at the attitude some city boys have. Some feel once they leave the lower mainland everything is crown. Rancher friend called the CO on one fellow. The guy actually tried to tell the CO everything is crown. He just didn't understand.
