    Chukar, Kamloops Lake, Tribal police.

Opening week of Chukar I was parked off Cemetery Rd., booting my dog when Tribal police pulled up behind me. He was nice enough , asked where I was heading, I explained walking east then back along lake. He informed me that hunting was shut down in the area due to recent fires, pressure on wildlife. As I understand it I was not on reserve land or planning to hunt reserve land.
I packed up, there are other areas for different birds, and headed off.
Since then I have found nothing that states a hunting closure , have had no return calls form the Kamloops area wildlife office, and can not verify this.
Anyone hear anything, I’m heading back next week to chase grouse and wondering what’s up.

There are well posted closures for all vehicle access online (see updates to the BC Hunting regulations online), but as far as I have read, these are about vehicles only and not hunting.

Crappy if a guy drew the 100000-1 sheep draw there and got run out by the "tribal" police.

Are Tribal Police allowed to police off reserve? Next time, Name, badge number, unit number and license plate.

Yah I can see what the response would be : You're attempting to hunt on our unseated territory. You can't win, and the Co's are powerless. What a state this province and country are in.

I must be blind, but that road is not part of any closure on the maps that I have found, and you were on foot.

Keep hunting, tell them to call the COs or cops.

If they want self governance, govern your own.

If there's no posted or closure listed....... Have at er.

My bad, didn’t know correct terminology. He was in a 3/4 ton with the band chest on the door. There was one other hunters vehicle parked on the road. After talking to me he opened a gate and drove toward where they most likely were hunting.
